The challenge lay in translating SIFI’s multi-stakeholder nature (uniting public institutions, private investors, and impact-driven organizations) into a single, cohesive design language. The identity needed to feel institutional yet innovative, credible to financial audiences while also signaling collaboration and optimism. Additionally, because SIFI works as a catalyst rather than a single entity, the visual identity had to convey the idea of partnership and progress without leaning on typical “impact” or “finance” clichés. The design system needed to stay adaptable across digital, print, and event contexts while maintaining a unified voice.
The logo design is built around three symbolic elements: • The Pillar (SDG) - Vertical and bold, representing the foundation and structure that supports financial solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. • The Middle (Impact Finance Initiative) - Clean and modern typography expressing professionalism and accessibility, bridging capital and innovation. • The Strategy (Multicolor Arrows) - A dynamic progression of colors inspired by the SDGs, symbolizing collaboration, joint effort, and collective growth. Together, these components create a balanced and solid form: one that embodies both the strength of financial structure and the optimism of global progress. The broader visual system was expanded from this concept, incorporating a modular color palette and data-friendly templates adaptable to reports, presentations, and digital platforms.
The resulting identity strikes a delicate balance between credibility and inspiration: a brand that instills confidence among financial partners while highlighting a shared vision of progress toward the SDGs. By translating the complexity of blended finance into a clear, forward-moving visual language, the SIFI identity helps position the initiative as a key connector between capital, innovation, and sustainable development.
For us at Trema, this project was a rewarding challenge that brought together strategic thinking and design. Developing the visual identity for an initiative as forward-looking as SIFI meant finding a way to express both institutional solidity and collective ambition, values deeply aligned with our own focus on communication for impact finance. It was an opportunity to create visuals that not only look modern and professional but also carry a deeper message of collaboration, trust, and momentum toward a sustainable future.
Next projects.
